The international video mapping community is gearing up for one of the most exciting events of 2026: the 9th edition of the Video Mapping Festival, organised by Rencontres Audiovisuelles. Taking place in Lille on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th April 2026, the opening weekend will feature breathtaking projection mapping creations across the city, followed by a tour across the Hauts-de-France region until October 2026.
This festival is a highlight in the global calendar for those passionate about projection on buildings, digital art, and audiovisual innovation. It offers an incredible opportunity for artists, students, and professionals from around the world to showcase their creativity in front of international audiences.

Three Open Calls for Artists and Creatives
The organisers have launched three calls for entries, encouraging contributions from a wide range of disciplines including video mapping, audiovisual creation, animation, digital arts, set design, sound design, video games, and more.
1. Video Mapping International Residency
A unique chance for artists to develop and produce a new mapping artwork for the opening of the festival in Lille.
- Includes a 1-week writing residency in December 2025, followed by remote production support.
- Selected artists will receive a production grant.
- Deadline for applications: 17th October 2025.
2. Video Mapping Contest
A prestigious competition on the façade of the Voix du Nord building in Lille.
- Selected entries will be showcased during the opening weekend in April 2026.
- Winners will receive financial prizes and the chance to create at partner festivals.
- Deadline for applications: 1st December 2025.
3. Video Mapping Awards
Celebrating the best projection mapping works of 2025.
- Entries will be screened for both the public and a professional jury on 11th April 2026 in Lille.
- Awards are honorary but carry significant international recognition.
- Deadline for applications: 12th January 2026.
