Earlier this month, The Projection Studio returned to Bradford to play a key technical role in one of the first major highlights of Bradford City of Culture 2025, the large-scale projection work “STRIKE!”, created by Urban Projections.
The show illuminated one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks over three evenings, 3rd–5th October 2025, drawing thousands of visitors to experience Bradford in a whole new light.
Following our previous success with the Mill Chimney Projection, we again transformed one of Bradford’s most iconic sites into a spectacular canvas of light, this time supporting the new projection work “STRIKE!”, created by Urban Projections.
A New Chapter for Bradford’s Cultural Story
It took place on 3rd, 4th and 5th October 2025, STRIKE! formed part of the City of Culture programme’s autumn lineup, celebrating Bradford’s rich industrial history and community spirit through immersive digital storytelling.
Urban Projections, known for their bold visual art and emotionally charged narratives, are leading the creative concept and content development for this piece. The Projection Studio provided full technical delivery, including projection equipment supply, installation and on-site operation, ensuring that the creative vision is realised with precision and impact.
Blending Art and Technical Expertise
Projection mapping has the power to transform everyday architecture into living, breathing works of art—and The Projection Studio specialises in making that happen. Our role on STRIKE! focuses on the seamless integration of technology, storytelling and space, ensuring that every frame, light beam and movement is perfectly aligned with Urban Projections’ creative intent.
From selecting the ideal projection equipment to configuring power, lensing, and alignment for the challenging site conditions, our team will be on-site to ensure flawless playback and audience experience.
“We’re thrilled to return to Bradford,” says the team. “Having worked here previously on the Mill Chimney Projection, we know how powerful these public artworks can be in connecting people to place. City of Culture 2025 is an incredible opportunity to showcase the city’s creative heart.”
Building on a Legacy of Light
Bradford has a growing reputation as a creative city, home to ambitious public art, live performance and digital innovation. The Projection Studio’s ongoing involvement is part of a wider commitment to support cultural regeneration through world-class projection mapping.
Our past projects in Bradford have demonstrated how projection on buildings can become a storytelling medium, linking heritage, people, and place in a uniquely powerful way. With STRIKE!, we continue that journey, helping turn artistic vision into an unforgettable shared experience.
